  • Jul 31, 2022

Beer lovers, unite!

Events are well and truly back – and this also means that beer festivals and drinking with friends in a festival setting are back on the table. If you’re visiting Malta, be sure to check out these beer festivals taking place this summer!

PINTA Beer Festival

Triton Square, Valletta, Malta, 26 – 28 August 2022

The first edition of PINTA Beer Festival takes place this August. More than 200 beers from around the world will be available to sample. In addition, Malta’s largest brewers will be present at the festival, which means you can also taste what Malta has to offer in terms of beer. The event will be complemented by music from some of Malta’s leading artists.

Farsons Beer Festival

Ta’ Qali Picnic Area, 28 July – 6 August 2022

The Farsons Beer Festival is known for its musical lineup and great selection of beers,

To commemorate this special occasion, festival goers can expect a wide selection of local and international award-winning beers, and about 70 performances spread across three stages.

Which beer should I try whilst in Malta?

Cisk is, hands down, Malta’s most popular beer. Cisk Lager has a distinctive golden colour, rich hop aroma and pleasant bitter taste that you can’t get anywhere else in the world. It’s been around since 1929, and is undoubtedly the locals’ go-to beer. In addition to the classic Cisk Lager there are various Cisk iterations, including Chisk Chill, Cisk Pilsner and Cisk 0.0 Alcohol-Free Lager Beer.

If you’re interested in craft beer, you’ll be pleased to learn that Malta has a number of small breweries that produce excellent beer. Stretta is one of them. Launched in 2016, Stretta’s Premium Lager is a pilsner-style lager that is crisp, light and more importantly, refreshing.
